Learn English While Having Lots Of Fun

 I am an All-day English teacher at Walton School. I am from America and have been teaching young children English for over 3 years. I am currently teaching the small class.I have enjoyed teaching All-day English for many reasons. I feel its very beneficial for new and old students. Its a great way for the children to be immersed in English, while still having the opportunity to learn Chinese. At Walton, the children are able to learn and still have fun. I think having fun while learning is a very important part of the learning process.

我是華頓全天美語班教師。我來自美國，從事幼兒美語教學 3 年以上。目前我教小班。我樂於教全天美語班有很多原因。我覺得它對於新舊學生非常有利。它是一個讓孩子沉浸美語中最棒的方式，同時仍有機會學習中文。在華頓，孩子們能夠學習，且還能得到樂趣。我認為獲得樂趣是學習過程中非常重要的部分。

 The first 6 months can be very important for the learning process. A lot of my students came with zero English. The first few weeks can be challenging for them, but I think Walton has a nice routine set up so the children will quickly learn some basic English vocabulary. Once this foundation is set, then the children can quickly build on it. Since the classroom is English only,(I can not speak Chinese), my students started with listening and understanding. After they feel more comfortable with English, they will start to speak one or two word sentences. From here, they are able to build and will start speaking fuller sentences. I am able to encourage the whole process while making it as easy as possible. Every student has a unique personality that I am able to get to know very well in the All-day classes. The books (science, math, readers, conversation books...) are great. I like to sing and dance familiar songs so they feel comfortable and confident quickly.

前六個月可是非常重要的學習過程。很多我的學生們來這時，對美語是一無所知。前幾個星期對他們來說可是挑戰，但我認為華頓有不錯的課程規劃，所以孩子會很快學到一些基本的美語詞彙。一旦此基礎建立，那麼孩子們便可以快速的學習。由於教室只有美語（我不能說中文），我的學生開始聽和理解。當他們對美語感到自在，他們會開始說一個或兩個詞的句子。從此，他們能夠建立並開始講更豐富的句子。這過程我會多鼓勵，使盡可能變得容易些。在全天美語班，我可以清楚了解每個孩子獨特的個性。我們的教材(自然、讀本、會話、數學....)非常棒。我喜歡唱跳熟悉的歌曲，使他們很快感到自在和自信。

 All-day English also has many different subjects that will use new and old vocabulary in many different ways. This will help reinforce the new vocabulary while building on the old. For example, a science book will talk about animals and where they live, while a Fingerprints book will have a until on Families and homes, then the Math book will have a Unit on counting objects that are in different rooms of the house. These books allow for easy cross-over of vocabulary. It will encourage the children to speak and ask questions because a lot of vocabulary and sentence structure has been used before.

全天美語班也有許多用不同方式使用新舊詞彙的課程。這有助於加強新詞彙，並建立在舊基礎上。例如，科學的書籍談論動物和他們住在哪裡，而 Fingerprints 這本書書有家人和家的單元，然後數學書有一單元是計數在不同房間的物體。這些書益於重覆使用新舊詞彙。因大量的詞彙和句子結構已經被使用過，它將鼓勵孩子說、問問題。

 I really enjoy teaching at Walton because there are a lot of extra - fun activities for the children to enjoy: field trips, speech contests, dance class and birthday parties. It ’ s a nice way for the children to learn and have fun outside the class room. Another great thing about Walton School is the support and resources the school give to the teachers.  There are teacher's monthly meetings that let the teacher exchange ideas and ask for any advice they might need. This allows the teachers to learn and discuss different teaching styles. I would highly recommend Walton School if you would like your children to learn English, while still having lots of fun.

我非常享受在華頓任教的過程，因為有大量的課外活動讓孩子享受樂趣：戶外教學，演講比賽，舞蹈課和生日派對。這是在教室外讓孩子學習和娛樂的好方式。另一個很棒的事是，華頓會給予教師很多的資源及支持。每月的教師會議讓教師交換意見，並獲得所需要的建議，這讓教師能夠學習和討論不同的教學方式。如果您想讓孩子學習英語，同時還獲得樂趣，我強烈推薦華頓幼稚園。
